Free access & reuse rights
CC BY-NC-ND 4.0
Attribution · NonCommercial · NoDerivatives
Cahiers Africains de Rhétorique makes its articles freely available to read and download. The selected Creative Commons licence governs reuse while protecting attribution and the integrity of scholarly work.
What you may do
You may copy and share an unmodified article in any medium for noncommercial purposes, subject to the conditions below.
BY — Give appropriate credit
Identify the authors, acknowledge the source, retain rights notices and provide a link to the licence. The bibliographic reference and DOI, where available, help identify the work. Do not imply endorsement by the authors or journal.
NC — Noncommercial use
Reuse must not primarily aim at commercial advantage or monetary compensation. Commercial use requires separate permission from the rights holder.
ND — Do not share adaptations
The licence does not permit sharing adapted versions, such as translations or rewritten texts, without separate permission. A change of format alone does not constitute an adaptation.
Practical examples
- Sharing the original PDF for noncommercial purposes with its credits and licence link: permitted.
- Distributing a translation or selling a reproduction: separate permission required, unless a legal exception applies.
Scope and other rights
Do not impose legal or technical restrictions that prevent uses permitted by the licence. Legal exceptions and public domain material remain unaffected. Check the licence on each article and the credits for third-party material; this presentation does not revoke permissions previously granted.

This explanation is a guide; the legal code sets out the licence terms.
Article copyright
Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication, editing and online dissemination. These rights are separate from rights in the website and its visual identity. Reuse of each article is governed by the licence displayed on that article. This explanation does not retrospectively change the licence of earlier publications.
