Speech powers or poetic mutations of the word in the poem "Dead" in Fer de Lance (pp. 54 – 57) by Bottey Zadi Zaourou

Abstract

From the perspective of discourse analysis, according to the Saussurean and Hjelmslevian 
perspectives, it appears evident that the word, as a sign, results from a sociocultural dynamic. Thus, 
it remains, above all, a bearer of meaning and underlies a space of interaction between 
communicators. Later, Éric Landowski (2005, pp. 64-71) admits the principles of sensitivity and 
randomness as foundations of the regimes of meaning and interaction of the lexical unit. Such an 
orientation stems from the vision of tensive rhetoric of Jacques Fontanille (2001, p.130) which 
reassures on the value of the word as “a phenomenal space of feeling”. Nourished by these reflections 
and especially by that of Roman Jakobson, In Fer de Lance, Bernard Zaourou Zadi develops a poetics 
of the word. Through this approach, speech, in all its evocative power, becomes the vector of a quest 
for peace and freedom. The poem entitled "Morts" (pp. 54–57) concentrates all its isotopic tentacles. 
With this problematic aim in mind, it is necessary to rely on serial stylistics. Indeed, this method 
allows us to characterize and interpret the poetic mechanisms by which the speaker articulates 
significance and meaning to bring out an intense oratorical speech
