In the artistic and cultural practices of Côte d'Ivoire, slam is a recent oral art. It took
concrete form with the collective Au Nom Du Slam, whose words aim to establish themselves—and
thus, to establish slam—in a cultural environment more favorable to urban musical genres such as
coupé-décalé and zouglou. Integrating slam poetry into artistic practices and granting it recognition
thus seems tedious, but not impossible. This article aims to examine how slam is presented by the
members of the collective Au Nom Du Slam and, more importantly, how this art is highlighted in
their speech. To this end, the text entitled "Au nom du slam" - eponymous title of the group -
constitutes the corpus of the analysis. This is carried out using the tools of stylistics (levels of language, figures of speech, phrastic organization, etc.). The study reveals the functioning of a speech
that presents itself as a profession of faith, a firm defense of slam
