Writing the perversion in Rivals of Noun fare

Abstract

This article sets out to show the innovative aesthetic of Noun Faré's Rivales, not only in terms of narratology, but also in terms of writing style, where insult and exposure of the body seem to be a strategy for the novelist to write about perversion, which has become a reality brought out into the open. The narrative blurring is characterised by interlocking and similar narratives and female characters who are narrators with almost the same stories, characterised by rape and hatred of their mother.  A style of writing that defies the norms of language and an over-exposure of the body, especially the sexual parts of the body, are proof that the novelist uses perversion as a writing strategy that exposes our current society, where perversion seems to be the norm. Gérard Genette's narratology and discourse analysis are the appropriate tools for this analysis.
